Duc Ban raised a question who is the leader of Vietnamese online services, and his candicates are Vietnamworks, Clipvn and Baomoi. He’s so optimistic. I call it optimistic ‘cos during this recession time and early stage of Vietnam Online Services, it’s great to see that someone is ready to look for a “real” leader.
Just recently split from its rich mom Navigos. Vietnamworks is the leading Vietnam online job service, and also the winner of RED HERRING 100 ASIA 2005. With high-quality jobs, good content service, more than 2000 partner companies and invaluable database of around 160000 searchable CVs (Thanks Chris Harvey), Vietnamworks will keep this position for a least couples of years ahead.

Clipvn maybe the first web service (exclude forums) in Vietnam to reach 1 million users. With the Hayghe.com integration inside, its traffic levels up dramatically since Oct 2008 (right??). But things would be hard for Clipvn when Youtube already had 7 servers in Vietnam. And as far as I know, Clipvn still has a content team doing job of uploading videos only.

Baomoi, as considered the leader in news aggregator in Vietnam, is the product I understand the most, and I think Baomoi’s strength is in its technology. Actually Baomoi was built to demonstrate ePi’s keyword distraction technology. Unlike other online products, most users from Baomoi are not hi-tech people. But I hope that after new version launching (Feb 15 2009), users’ loyalty would be another strength of Baomoi.

I’d like to suggest one more product, Sannhac b/c of its strong community, and not bad at all technology. Connected to each other by the same indulgence in singing, Sannhac’s users have close relationships. It’s also the fastest growth online service in Vietnam with 200k users just after 6 months.
A product of VC – an IDG’s porfolio.
VinaGame
Yeah, how could I forget Vinagame?
Well then after all, I think that IDG itself is the leader in our online services ![]()
